Let’s just call this Sriracha Hummus recipe my gift to you this holiday season. It’s quick, it’s cheap, it’s creamy and smooth and just about the most delicious thing you could do to your food. Seriously, carrots? WAY better with sriracha hummus. Rice bowls? DEFINITELY better with sriracha hummus. Sandwiches? This stuff was made for sandwiches it’s so good on them (okay I actually did design  this recipe for a sandwich but that’s besides the point). Really, if you like spicy food at all you owe it to yourself to make a batch of sriracha hummus, it’s that good.

Like all garden bowls, this Sriracha Sweet Potato Garden Bowl is vegan and gluten free, but it gets a special star in my book for somehow letting me eat more Sriracha than anyone ever should! Seriously, my husband has gone from predicting I’ll become a mummy (because I like everything saalllltyyy) to saying I’m just going to melt from the spicy sriracha fire! Besides my obsession with this chili garlic heaven, though,  this garden packs the usual brown rice, some tomatoes, roasted sweet potato because sweet potato and sriracha go together like peanut butter and jelly, and then the not-so-usual green pea hummus. Yup, green peas. In hummus. And I’ll admit, I was really skeptical about this one… really skeptical… but trust me on this: the sweet mildness of the peas mixed with the hot sauce fire and all balanced out with the creamy roasted tots, it’s a winner, it just is!

Pesto used to be one of  my long-run-days foods. In other words, it has enough fat to make an elephant float so I saved it for those days when I wanted a real treat. Coming in at an average 8-9 grams of fat per TABLESPOON, I thought of pesto as a luxury topping- but no more! This simple pesto recipe packs all that amazing, fragrant Basil freshness with just a fraction of the fat- we’re talking 4 grams per Tbsp!
